World War Z

Oh No, Not another Zombie Movie!!

World War ZWhen i first saw the trailer for the movie, i was literally stunned. I didn’t know what it was and i was wondering for days what is this movie really all about. Then i had to do some research and i found out that – yeah you guessed it! Another Zombie Movie. Omg!! was i pissed. its just like every year one director and producer comes together and says, let’s make a Zombie movie, this time let’s use a sort of virus name no one can think of and blame it on a World wide pandemic outbreak. That’s what they did with World War Z only this time, it didn’t just talk about how people were changing into something of destruction, but it also talked of a way people can escape the holocaust that has befall Humanity as we know it. Now our hero is a former UN staff named Gerry (Brad Pitt) who’s sole mission is to go out and find the source of the first outbreak. he journeys his way around the globe to come to a conclusion that the Zombie pandemic is actually selecting who to infect and it only selects healthy people and not sick people. So the cure to the Zombie outbreak is to make everyone sick so they can fight the problem. It seems like a nice idea but after hearing it’s going to have a sequel, i came to the rational conclusion that the owners or producers of this movie should just forget about a sequel. This first one might be good but a sequel won’t be that good. In total, its a nice movie to watch, it has its moment and am sure you’ll like it.

Man of Steel

“Do you Think you have what it Takes to be Superman?”

Man of SteelYou have to love it when the Man of Steel is around saving the world and all that. Man of Steel a.k.a Superman, another sequel of the movie after years of no come back and now in 2013 we get to see how the real superman story should be told. To get down to the point, I have to say that this is the best superman movie i have ever watched and it shows reality of what might happen when someone such as superman is discovered on earth which we live today. The plot and story line was way on “point” i.e the producers nailed it for me. An analysis i watched on Youtube suggest that the destruction superman and the exiled kyptonians did on Earth is estimated at $100 billion dollar with over 1 million people injured and over 123,000 something people dead. Now looking at this, the stats is actually what i would expect from the destruction. We’re not dealing with normal aliens but aliens who can defy Newton’s laws. So my comment on the movie is that the whole story talks about superman a.k.a Clark/Kal-el and his vision to unravel who he really is and how he can use his powers for good. unknowing to him that an exiled general named Zod is out to seek revenge on him and restore his people by being an autocrat leader at the cost of Earth’s inhabitants. Luckily for Earth, superman is on our side and one of the striking thing i compliment on the movie, is how superman was forced to kill Zod. it really shows the side of superman i wanted to see for a long time. Anyway this is a very lovely movie to watch and i bet you, you’ll love every dollar spent.

PlayStation 4 Priced at $399

Sony unveils a stunning Price for the PlayStation in the US

PS4 Bundle     It was with good news that the PS4 would cost $399 and its with wonderful pride I say “Screw you Microsoft”. I have never been a fan of the Xbox – no offense but on the contrary people seem to like it very much. Ever since the end of E3 2013, every forum i visit or people i talk with seem to talk bad about how Microsoft is going to lose it customers and eventually gamers for the Xbox. People online are now calling it with a pro-fain name such as “The Shit Box”. On the other hand even Nintendo made a come back with awesome Mario games even the Super Smash Bros game which i loved so much during the early year 2k when N64 was still rocking my TV Screens. PlayStation on the verge is enjoying their sweet victory in the gaming community and for once i think they deserve it because not only did they not do the stupid “Always Online thing”, they are encouraging small developers to make good games on a gaming platform which is the PS4 and PS Vita. This is a revolution which i think when Big corporations put better thought into what they are doing, they can achieve a lot more. For Microsoft, its not all about money because when you destroy something you’ve built, its hard to start all over.

PS4: Jack hammers it home to leave Microsoft with a bloody nose

The PlayStation 4’s biggest selling point is actually a last-gen feature, says Matt Martin

Sony CEO Jack TrettonWho would have thought this year’s E3 could have been won and lost on the policies of old media? Sony’s clear message about digital rights, prices, online connection, reselling and sharing video game content brought the house down at its big PlayStation 4 reveal yesterday. In a day crammed full of new game reveals, it only took a few well-hammered statements from Sony’s Jack Tretton – three minutes of bullet points shot at a rival company with a huge target painted on its ass – to become the talking point of this year’s event. It’s clear to consumers and the media: Sony has been listening to complaints and concerns and it’s not going to follow a corporate vision over the interests of consumer taste.

“Three minutes of bullet points shot at a rival company with a huge target painted on its ass”

Microsoft had started the day with a very strong showing too. The streamlined event that just focused on games with quick and clear communication was a success, where the suits stepped back and pushed the developers forward. And the developers for the most part, both first and third party, looked to be enjoying themselves. In demo form, early trailer, concepts or near-complete games, Microsoft’s line-up for the first years of the Xbox One is really very strong. New IP and old, it’s the dream portfolio for the hardcore gaming audience that won the crowd back from last month’s ostracising TV evangelism.

It was doing so well, with genuinely talented developers at its back, the right amount of bombast and none of the celebrity endorsement bollocks that dilutes the gaming message. But then it ripped the sticking plaster off and announced the $499 price and it crashed back to reality. Consoles are always expensive on launch day, the Xbox One will be no different. But even the price isn’t what sticks in the craw. Microsoft’s flat-out refusal to discuss any of the business decisions behind it’s terribly misguided stance on used games, digital rights management and always online connections still remained after a positive 90 minutes. Amplified by clearly being ignored, the elephant in the room is thrashing around, tusks goring the beauty of Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive and Below.

While at times the whooping and hollering of the rent-a-crowd in Sony’s conference yesterday felt forced, the reaction to the PlayStation 4’s stance on used games, DRM, sharing and online connections was genuine. It’s the reaction that E3 moments are made of. The first half of Sony’s presentation was slow and meandering, a chunk of the PlayStation 4 portfolio had already been revealed in February, and banging the drum about exclusive DLC snacks for multiformat games is just small fry.

Looking back, Sony’s game line-up for the PlayStation 4 doesn’t feel as strong although it is more varied than the Xbox One. Sony isn’t embarrassed to support families and experimentation alongside it’s blockbusters. Phil Harrison’s insistence that Microsoft has always loved the independent developers simply didn’t sound true, whereas Adam Boyes’ love for Octodad, Lorne Lanning, Switchblade Monkeys and chums was genuine.

“Sony won the crowd back and left its biggest rival with a bloody nose for which it can only blame itself. Microsoft honestly looks foolish”

But despite the billions spent on trailers yesterday, the hardwork put in to live demos and the reinvigoration of the video game console market, the real crowd pleaser wasn’t one title. It was clear communication that Sony will continue to treat its customers with respect and listen to their concerns. There’s still a long way to go and Sony did take away some privileges with one hand (now having to pay for multiplayer gaming on PS4, for example), but Sony won the crowd back and left its biggest rival with a bloody nose for which it can only blame itself. Continuing to blank the bigger questions is just like letting the blood run down on to your new crisp white shirt. Microsoft honestly looks foolish.

And if that wasn’t enough, the fact that the PlayStation 4 will launch in the US a whole $100 less than the Xbox One sealed the deal. It’s still a lot of money for new hardware but the loyal gamer is used to paying for it and it looks at this point like a much better deal for those looking for their first taste of next generation console gaming.

Microsoft is so focused on the future it’s alienated its players over a soulless corporate goal to own the living room. Sony has its eyes on the distance but it understands consumers don’t want to give up control of their private space and what they do in it. Sony isn’t actually doing anything different when it comes to DRM, second hand sales, sharing and online connections. In many ways the biggest feature of the PlayStation 4 is something that hasn’t been tampered with. The PlayStation 4’s greatest triumph so far is a distinctly last-gen feature.

PS4 sends Sony stock north while Microsoft slides

Investors are reacting in early trading today, and Sony’s positive buzz around PS4 continues

Sony CorporationIt’s now the morning after. The dust is beginning to settle after E3 skirmish – a fight clearly won by Sony’s uppercut punch to Microsoft on used games – but now investors are weighing in with early trading on the stock market. So far today the message is clear: Microsoft is down while Sony is up. Sony landed a Big Blow to Microsoft when they announced better content line-up for the PS4.

As of this writing, Microsoft stock (MSFT) has dipped nearly 1.7 percent while Sony’s shares (SNE) have climbed over 1.7 percent. These percentages may not seem like a lot but it’s important to remember that both Sony and Microsoft operate businesses that deal with a lot more than just video games. It’s clear that yesterday’s big E3 news is having an impact on investors’ perceptions.

As for other gaming stocks, EA’s and Take-Two’s shares have climbed slightly while Ubisoft’s and Activision’s shares have dipped. Importantly, GameStop’s shares have increased almost 9 percent on the news about consoles and used games.

Official PlayStation Used Game Instruction – SONY 1, Microsoft -1

Sharing Games on PS4Sony showed off a video to mock off Microsoft’s shared game policy and in fact, it is the most hilarious video of the Month of June 2013. This goes to prove that Microsoft is pulling a stunt that they won’t recover from in the Game Industry. This simple yet illustrative video shows in common sense how games bought are supposed to be used. If you are not playing the game, why can’t you lend it out or even better sell it off. If I paid for a game, am entitled to enjoy every aspect of that game. I think of the set back to Microsoft’s dilemma is because its an American based company and they only think of Americans in general never regarding the entire World that put them on the spot. Good Move Sony and I hope to see more of Sony’s game content line-up as E3 presents itself. Sony leads with 1 and Microsoft with -1. This extends my previous post of the fact that i believe Sony is actually watching Microsoft’s campaign to see them fail tremendously in the Game Industry. Doing the Right thing is worth more than just showing a console, its making the people who uses your console to love it and be loyal to your market when ever you bring out a new tech. This is why Nintendo is falling in the Market and Microsoft will soon join them.

Is SONY Watching Microsoft Fail at E3 2013

Xbox One E3 2013Ever since the announcement of Sony’s next gen consoles, Microsoft has been on the edge. They’ve been making silly mistakes with their announcements that they have lost the sight of what gaming is all about. Its not about Social media or Movies, its about playing epic games that will make more people buy your device. That’s the point they don’t understand. Microsoft has been pressing on the issue of reusable games but instead of doing the right thing, they are actually blocking the use of it. They never thought of their loyal customers in Africa or Asia who might not have a constant Internet supply to always as they quote “Always Online”. They forgot the fact that its not everyone that has a constant internet access, and this is the reason why Microsoft will Fail with the Next-Gen release unless they do the right thing. Unlike Microsoft, Sony made a come back with the PS Vita System, to verify Online purchased content. Now this content verifies itself and depending if you’re using the PlayStation Plus Membership, it calculates the time-frame on the device itself so if you’re not online the device will know when the game content expires. Likewise Sony did an impressive thing still with their service of having the same game downloaded on multiple devices. Sony E3 2013With the coming of the PS4, Sony claims it will do “The Right Thing” and for one thing i applaude Sony is the fact that they remembered those of their customer that wouldn’t have a constant Internet access to implement an Always Online mode of Playing games. Now back to the title of this articles, I believe in all manner that Sony is actually watching and patiently waiting to see Microsoft fail with their Next-gen consoles, and so far Microsoft is heading there. People are starting to dislike the fact that they are not doing what they came out into the Market to do and at E3 Microsoft will be challenged.
