Well to be more precise, HTML is a representation of data on the web, it doesn’t store and hold data, it simply just displays it. For example let’s say am holding a cue card and standing in a football court, and you’re with a binoculars viewing me, we’re distant from each other but you can view me with your binoculars, you can’t understand anything i say because you can’t hear me, but if i hold up my cue card and i wrote “CAN YOU SEE ME” then you can understand what am trying to tell you. hope you understand that illustration? HTML only display data that it’s creator intends everyone to see, because the distance between you( end user) and the Server is great, so for you to be able to understand what information is held in the web pages, the HTML documents help to display those Data.
